After independence in 1980, the venue welcomed its first List A match, marking a new era. In 1992, Zimbabwe achieved Test status, and Harare Sports Club proudly hosted the nation’s inaugural Test against India. Just three years later, Zimbabwe celebrated its first-ever Test win here against Pakistan—a moment etched in cricket history.
The club’s social hub is the historic pavilion featuring The Centurion Bar, a favorite among fans, and the lively Castle Corner on the southern side. Today, it remains the headquarters of Zimbabwe Cricket and home to the Mashonaland Eagles.
